Checklist before you launch an outbound calling campaign

Twelve checks to run before an outbound dialer campaign goes live: compliance, caller ID, routes, balance, monitoring and more.

- 5 min read

Most campaign problems are visible before the first call if you know where to look. Run through this checklist the day before launch.

Compliance

  1. Confirm you have consent or a lawful basis to call every number on the list
  2. Scrub against relevant do-not-call registers
  3. Check permitted calling hours in each destination time zone

Caller ID and numbers

  1. Set a valid caller ID on every line you will use
  2. Make sure callbacks to that number reach a person or useful message

Routes and capacity

  1. Review rates for your top destinations in the rate card
  2. Confirm your channel and calls-per-second limits fit your dial ratio
  3. Place test calls to each major destination and listen for audio quality

Balance and monitoring

  1. Top up enough balance for at least two days of expected volume
  2. Have someone watch Active Calls for the first hour
  3. Export call logs at the end of day one and check ASR and ACD
  4. Agree a stop rule, such as pausing if ASR falls below an agreed threshold
