Setting up a virtual number for a remote sales team
Step-by-step: buy a virtual phone number, route it to your reps on softphones and keep a local presence in every market you sell into.

Remote sales teams win more calls when prospects see a local number. A virtual number lets a rep in one country answer calls from another without moving or porting anything.
Step 1: decide who answers
Each virtual number needs a destination. That can be a single rep, a shared line that rings a team, or an external SIP address such as your existing PBX.
Step 2: create lines for your reps
In the Lines section of your portal, create one line per rep. Each line gets a username and secret you can load into any softphone on a laptop or mobile.
Step 3: buy the number
Go to Inbound Numbers, browse the available pool by country and buy the number you want. The monthly fee is shown before you confirm and deducted from your balance.
Step 4: route it
Open the number and set its destination to the rep line or SIP URI. Changes take effect straight away, so you can reassign a territory in seconds when a rep is on leave.
Step 5: test and publish
- Call the number from a mobile phone and confirm the right softphone rings
- Check the call appears in Call Logs
- Add the number to email signatures and your website for that market
